Student Leaders Needed for IP Subcommittees
The Law Student Action Group (LSAG) of the ABA Intellectual Property Law Section is looking for some leaders to join our ranks. There are 5 Subcommittee positions available for the following subcommittees:
Diversity -- Chair and Vice Chair
Copyright Law -- Vice Chair
Communications -- Vice Chair
Subcommittee Chairs will have the following responsibilities:
Diversity Subcommittee — Serve as an LSAG liaison to the Diversity Action Group of the ABA-IPL by attending those calls and reporting back to LSAG about events and programs that relate to diversity and law students; survey ABA-IPL events and programs that relate to diversity and keep law students informed about them; develop and implement events and/or initiatives when necessary to meet the needs of subcommittee members, including subcommittee calls and proposals; work with the Chair/Vice Chair on all the above.
Copyright Law Subcommittee — Attend LSAG conference calls and report on events and programs that relate to copyright law; survey the Copyrights Division of the ABA-IPL for events and programs that would be of interest to law students; connect with and foster relationships with leaders in the Copyrights Division; develop and implement events and/or initiatives when necessary to meet the needs of subcommittee members, including subcommittee calls and proposals; work with the Chair (Brian Focarino) on all the above.
Patent Law Subcommittee — Attend LSAG conference calls and report on events and programs that relate to patent law; survey the Patents Division of the ABA-IPL for events and programs that would be of interest to law students; connect with and foster relationships with leaders in the Patents Division; develop and implement events and/or initiatives when necessary to meet the needs of subcommittee members, including subcommittee calls and proposals; work with the Chair (Kiley White) on all the above.
Communications Subcommittee — Create and maintain communication campaigns related to LSAG events and initiatives, including on social media sites; engage LSAG members, law students, and people in the IP community online through the LSAG social media accounts to raise awareness about LSAG and to increase LSAG membership; report to LSAG leadership about events and programs related to the social media engagement of LSAG; draft email blasts for LSAG announcements and updates; author and/or solicit others to author content for the LSAG blog; develop and implement events and/or initiatives when necessary to meet the needs of LSAG; work with the Chair (Franklin Graves) on all the above.
