Subatomica (Hank & Wanda) 2 November 2015
"Wanda, can I borrow you for a minute?" It was late morning and Hank had come upon a slightly sticky Scarlet Witch in the kitchen. Hank couldn't figure out what she actually did with herself when she wasn't either working out, reading novels, and going to the theatre, but for someone without much direction and no job, she did keep a strangely precise regimen. He guessed he'd caught Wanda either just before or just after the strength training and whatever she did powers-wise portion of her workout. She turned when he called her name, a glass of something green in her hand. That was another thing he didn't understand about her. Wanda would drink these healthy shakes after her workout, but after four in the evening all pretence that her diet was healthy went out the window as she shared cookies, Belgian chocolate, and boxes of wine with Vision. That was, of course, neither here nor there. "I have a favor to ask of you." It was almost an afterthought that he added, "if you're free." Jan had mentioned that aside from Vision, Wanda was the only Avenger who didn't have a schedule to work around when making sure someone was always on call. "I've been working on something lately, a manned expedition to Subatomica. There have been some advancements lately in the field, and from what I've gathered from my probes, it's both inhabitable and inhabited." She was still staring at him blankly, and Hank wasn't sure if he should reiterate what he'd said or get to the point. Wanda started to drink her green smoothie. "Right, and so, I've been exploring this field for a while now, and normally I'd ask someone in the field to come with me as an extra pair of hands, but I don't know what you know about my work, but I've had my research stolen before and I would really like to avoid that." She lowered the glass. Had she even been listening? She raised an eyebrow. "Anyway, what I'm getting at is," he continued, "I'm going to Subatomica some time in the next few days, and I'd like you to come with me." Because in spite of her odd habits and bohemian lifestyle, Wanda was both one of the most powerful Avengers and extremely dedicated to their work as a team. Probably because it was the only thing of any magnitude she had going on in her life.
