So here, while they still go out of their way to mention his origin as a Metal Sonic model Blaze had encountered, we get some insight on Captain Metal’s backstory, written as if it’s “ye olde sea shanty”. He was apparently rebuilt by this scientist at sea, who was then either slain and/or had his boat stolen, and then the villain chopped up this pirate captain and took his parts to further upgrade himself. Since then, he has sailed the seas as a fearsome pirate dude, wrecking everyone’s shit but secretly having a plan of his own that he’s never shared with his crew.

Also, those panels of Blaze are prime meme material, its a wonder these have never been used as reaction images before.

Its been built up for a while, but Bean and Bark planned on taking the Sol Emerald all along (mostly Bean because of his “shinies” obsession).

And really, that’s all worth it to hear a version of Metal Sonic yell out “WHERE BE ME SOL EMERALD!!” Its got the same vibe from that old page from way back when.

Its time for another episode of Blaze’s crazy pirate adventure!

The others are helped by the little robot guys, called Sprockets, and they’re able to sneak into the pirate hideout and free Blaze.

As what happened last issue, Blaze has been kidnapped by Captain Metal and his goons, and now there’s on this pirate island inhabited by small robot guys.
