fufjda;gy okay so this is an AU i’ve had in mind to add here for. probably like a year or two or so, but i’m Slow. i’ve thought about creating an AU of some kind of. vengeful ghost!shen. the problem is that some of the ideas aren’t mine but an old fandom friend of mine who i’ve lost contact with, so i’m not. entirely sure about making use of them rip

but the basic gist of it is an angry spirit shen who is metaphorically chained to the harbor of gongmen, one who is responsible for a number of drownings in the area. his reappearance isn’t natural-- someone has tampered with his ‘afterlife’ and the peace he found in death and dragged him back halfway into the world of the living, which partially explains his violent nature (other than just. who he was in life lbr)

the original idea was that a new villain, many years into the future, had raised him from the dead and put him under their control, but shen made their control as difficult as he possibly could lmao it was. actually kind of hilarious imagining all the different ways he could subtly fuck up the new villains’ plans out of spite idk (not even to help the new heroes but just to be a burden)

anyway. i just don’t really know how i’d go about interacting with people in this verse or what kind of interactions he could have

   They’re quick to hurry over to him, meeting him half way in hope that it would ease any unnecessary agitation he might put on his wound by continuing to walk--one of their own arms tucks under his own, reaching across his back to take on some of his weight. Carefully, patiently, they guide him to a place to sit..

"D-Don’t be afraid to lean on me or anything..!

“What happened..? --Was someone just, like--trying to prove a point?! Or what?”

   A frustrated ‘tut’, they puff out their cheeks at the thought--but quickly shake their head. Getting mad about it could come later--for now, Jeice was hurt! Scooting a smidge backward, they gather up the sash that drapes down their front, reaching to him to gingerly slip it over the gash and lay their hand flat into the fabric, pressing lightly into his hip.

“I--I guess the how isn’t so important, but--... Are you... okay? Like, does anything else hurt...?

“I don’t travel much.”

“--and neither do those like myself, from what I understand. But...”
