I just feel like Stiles will get into most people’s faces, but there are some circumstances where he won’t. Like, maybe he doesn’t feel entitled to, or maybe the person kinda freaks him out, or maybe he doesn’t actually know what’s right or wrong, or they actually hurt him. And then Lydia will hear about what happened or coax it out of him and if she feels that the person deserves a beat down, she will go the fuck off. Like, if someone really gets to Stiles, Lydia will find that person and she will rattle off all of the things that will make them sink into the ground, just based upon what she knows about them and/or the deductions she makes from seeing them. She explains, clearly, loudly, calmly, and maliciously what’s wrong with them, just barely revealing the way she’s totally seething, and then just goes. off. It’s so smooth they barely even notice it’s happening until they realize their hearts are pounding. 

And when Stiles sees that person next, he can usually tell when it’s happened because they speak to him in this soft, slightly awkward tone, almost every time. 

It’s worse (best) when the person has insulted Lydia and Stiles’ relationship, like saying shit like she’s too good for him or too hot for him or too smart for him or whatever. Lydia goes off like a cannon. Stiles would just be quiet and walk away because he lowkey agrees but Lydia fucking eviscerates the person and then informs them of all the things they’re missing out on that she gets every day because she gets to be in love with Stiles. When he gets to witness those rants, it’s the best. 

OKAY YES GIRL. I HAVE THOUGHTS. 

Not a lot but a fair amount. 

Like Queen Victoria, I think Lydia hates being pregnant. 

She’s just throwing up and she’s like “listen, no, I have shit to do, fetus.”

It makes her so mad because she’s just going about her life and suddenly people are like “hey the things you’re inhaling in your lab might be bad for your baby.” 

And she’s like “What do you mean I have to stop working?”

They compromise, she just has to wear a mask over her nose. 

But for a while she’s on the verge of murdering someone.

She doesn’t like not having control of her body. At first, when the baby moves inside of her, it’s jarring and she hates it. She doesn’t have any choices about herself, there’s this other person who’s sharing her space. 

And it’s different from anything she’s ever known (obviously) because with Stiles she can just walk into a different room and be alone when she wants to. With a baby, she’s carrying it with her everywhere. 

Lydia gets mad pregnancy brain, and when she does have clarity she is so fucking angry about how amused Scott and Stiles are about it. 

Towards the very end of her pregnancy she has to pee so much that she ends up rarely leaving the house, which isn’t like her. 

She still wears heels/wedges as long as she possibly can. 

Nesting manifests dramatically for Lydia as soon as the initial shock from the baby moving wears off. Suddenly it’s super tangible, it’s not just a series of “symptoms” and she starts decorating the nursery like crazy.

At one point Stiles has an intervention about her credit card use because she’s buying so much stuff for the baby. 

This does not end well for him. 

Lydia does not curb her spending. 

Her trust fund barely has a noticeable dent in it, though, because she actually listens to him and is a bit more mindful.

In conclusion: 

Lydia doesn’t like the way her boobs get heavier but she does like her pregnancy hair. It is very luscious. 

Stiles likes the boobs, for the record. 

She doesn’t like pregnancy but she loves being a mother. 

That baby is the most important thing in the world to her, partly because it’s hers and partly because it’s Stiles’ and she sees how much he adores their baby. 

No Jackson does not come to their wedding I cannot even.

I think this is a super interesting question because Stiles seems to have a really small family, like it really seems like he and his dad are all each other have, and to make matters worse his dad’s dad is a piece of crapola. So I would assume Stiles has a tiny family, whereas Lydia probably has a bit more of a normal situation. Mom, dad, dad’s side of the family, mom’s side of the family, possibly a new stepmom/step-siblings for Lydia who she doesn’t know very well, and possibly a step-dad on her mom’s end of things by the time Stiles and Lydia are old enough to get married. 

So would it make Stiles feel bad if everyone they invited to their wedding was Lydia’s relatives? Would they even think about that? And also, now that the show has shown us that their lives aren’t peaceful, and that they’re gonna kinda collect more people into the pack so if they build this big family of people, they’d have to invite them.

I totally see Stiles and Lydia wanting a small wedding that’s intimate, but I also think that the parts of Lydia we knew in s1, 2, and 3 will come back (in good ways) and Stiles will know that she secretly wants a big, pretty, fancy wedding. I don’t necessarily think it’ll be huge, but I think Lydia will love the organizational aspect and will really, really want to wear the most beautiful dress of her life and I also really like the idea of her remembering the roots of her relationship with Stiles and wanting to really obviously, publicly declare her feelings for him and her devotion to him. I can also see, because in some ways their marriage is about Stiles building a traditional family unit from the ground, Lydia wanting him to have this incredibly cliche, normal experience because she loves him, and to put it simply, she wants his life to be good. Wants him to be happy.

I feel like Lydia loves it when a new Star Wars movie comes out, though. Because Stiles isn’t as expressive as he used to be in high school (not at this point in their life-- he comes back slowly but normal has to become a new concept) and she loves seeing the way he just loses it and lights up like a little kid. Usually, he’s good at taming his knowledge about SW and not acting like a maniac about it. But when these movies come out, it’s like... it’s like a shot goes off. Suddenly she’s coming home from work and he’s cooking dinner and Lydia can barely kiss him hello because he’s blabbering on about the new cinematic universe versus the old universe, his spatula waving in the air, and he’s just ranting.

So the Star Wars universe sort of just becomes a piece of Lydia’s life, with Stiles’ t-shirts that he wears (she can’t complain; some of them are from high school and they’re tight against his muscular back) and the R2D2 ice tray in their freezer and the enthusiasm Stiles has for these characters who go through space showing him how to be brave, how to be powerful, how to be selfish. In a lot of ways, Star Wars is Stiles’ moral compass, and Lydia figures that out really quickly. It wasn’t just a sick-day movie for him, or a babysitter after his mom died. It really helped to raise him. 

Which means loving Stiles is equivalent to loving Star Wars, so Lydia follows him to the movie theater for midnight premiers and buys the collectable popcorn buckets and the giant cups they’re never going to use, and she watches his cheeks pink up with excitement and lets him grab her hand and squeeze tight tight tight when the opening score comes on the screen at the beginning of the movie. 

Like, in the context of their sexual relationship? (First off, I wish she would’ve seen him shirtless in s3 after they kissed and been like “oh. oh no. oh god. oh no. oh no.”) 

But honestly I kinda think Lydia would be too overwhelmed to register the first time she saw Stiles shirtless. Because a part of me thinks that their first time is really, in a lot of ways, for him. Like... how do I put this. This is his opportunity to pour all the love and affection and adoration into her that he’s been experiencing for the past ten years. He loves her so much and he has for longer than she has loved him and I sorta think he’d just be obsessed with kissing her all over her skin, just loving her everywhere he could reach. For Lydia, it would be a haze. For Stiles, it would be a frenzy. 

So it probably isn’t until later that night when they’re hanging out in after-glow land-- maybe stiles is dozing, I love the idea of some of the tenseness falling out of his body after they finally get together because suddenly he feels safe and relaxed. I like the idea of her helping him sleep-- and she realizes that she hasn’t paid enough attention to his body. Maybe she pulls the sheets around herself and sits up in bed, her hair over one shoulder, and looks at his body as he lies languidly against the bed. Looks at the lines of his shoulders, the muscles in his biceps, his abdomen. Smiles at the hair on his legs (because she can remember when he didn’t have any.) Traces her fingers down from his happy trail to his hip bones. Hunts for moles.
