So let's begin.
HOW TO SURVIVE THE CHALLENGE MODE
#1: ARM YOURSELF - The first thing you MUST do is to find yourself a weapon. Doesn't matter if it's a machete, a gun, or a stick, just arm yourself. Fists don't really do much damage to these monsters. Weapons can be found anywhere in the map, you just have to look. My tip for you is to find yourself a flexible branch you'll need it for later.
 Â
#2: PICK UP THE TRASH - Trash I mean scraps, herbs, grass, etc. Gathering these items may prove to be useful later. You'll never know you may need that herb you just picked. My tip for you is if you find yourself an empty bottle don't throw it away, it's one of the most useful items in this game. Another tip, search zombie carcasses, collect their bones.
  Â
#3: ARMOAR!! - Now this is can bump up your survival rate. Equipping yourself with an armor can save your life. Bulletproof Jacket is the most basic and first armor you'll get in How to Survive. These are usually dropped by armored zombies.
#4 SET UP CAMP - This is one of the most important thing you need to do if you want to survive in this game. To set up camp you have to find abandoned fire pits. Remember the scraps I asked you to keep? Using the flint you can light up the fire pit. USUALLY water source are found near fire pits. Guessing you didn't throw your empty bottle you can get water here to use later when you need it. Using your flexible branch you can use it to make a flaming branch. Flaming weapons are useful against zombies especially useful at night.
#5: KNOW YOUR ZOMBIES - Knowing your enemy can give you hints whether you can attack head on or you have to sneak up on them.
Types of Zombies:
a. Normal Zombies - These are zombies you see very often, it can be killed in 1 - 4 hits with weapon.Â
b. Nocturnal Zombies - Fast creatures these ones, they only appear at night so using your flaming branches or flashlight can keep them at bay. My tip is if you're too afraid at night wait in camp you'll have the upperhand.
c. Fat Zombies - For me these are the most annoying types of this game. They are usually slow, so it's easy to avoid them. When you get near these things they'll blow up giving you massive damage. The best way to kill these type of zombies is by using range weapons.Â
d. Soldier Zombies - They are like normal zombies but tougher, they wear protective gear. If you find these kind of zombies kill them and you can get their armors. Using the "Twin Sticks Cutting Boomerang" can onehit KO this things.
e. Animal Zombies - Animal Zombies comes in different sub types; there are deer, ostriches, crabs, and boars. Though easy to kill, facing these type grouped can get you killed instantly. My tip for these type is to not stay in one place run if you can.
f. Slender Zombies - They are like normal zombies but skinny and taller. They are tougher than the normal ones.
g. Boss Zombies - The strongest zombie type in this game. It has 2X the health of an average survivor(you). It throws zombies at your face, so beware of that and it can kill you with two hits. It also charges to the survivors dealing big time health damage. My tip on these guys is if you don't have a nice looking weapon and armor, run, don't look back, run. RUN!
#6: UPGRADE! - Let's say you really want a piece of that boss zombie, well you first have to be well equipped. Upgrading your weapons and armor is very useful when playing this game. Because you didn't throw your scraps, you can now begin upgrading your things. Start with the most basic upgrade "Bulletproof Jacket with Bones". This can be done by combining your Soldier Bulletproof Jacket with bones. You can further upgrade this by combining it with your flint. Their are many ways you can upgrade your things like making your own handmade gun, or upgrading your bow to a more stabilized bow and etc. My tip for you is to upgrade your equipment early so you can farm more safely.
    Â
#7: GET YOURSELF A FRIEND - The most useful thing you can have to survive in this game is a companion. Doubling your survival rate, you can farm faster with a companion, and if you really want to get yourself a kill to the boss zombie having a companion can guarantee it. Providing he's not a n00b. Â Besides playing with your friend will make this game more fun and exciting. So get a friend to play with you co-op - locally or online and own this island!!
So yeah there you go, you now have a chance to survive in this game, but always.. always remember to have FUN..
