Rep. Matt Gaetz's tweet came after it was reported that Michael Cohen plans to publicly accuse President Trump of criminal conduct while in office.
Less than 24 hours before Michael Cohen is scheduled to testify openly before the House Oversight Committee, Republican Representative Matt Gaetz--who sits on that Committee--tweets:
“Hey @MichaelCohen212 - Do your wife & father-in-law know about your girlfriends? Maybe tonight would be a good time for that chat. I wonder if she’ll remain faithful while you’re in prison. She’s about to learn a lot...”
After about 11 bajillion people point out that threatening a witness before he testifies is kinda, y’know, illegal (“attempted witness intimidation and obstruction of justice”), Gaetz deletes his tweet.
‘Cos on the Internet, that fixes everything!
