Hi guys! So I’m going to be taking part in @studyblr #30dol for July ! I will be starting university in September so this is a really useful challenge ✨

My goals for this month are:

Read Le petit prince

Go over basic grammar in french eg. Most common verbs etc (I will be using @argyllcrice instagram challenge as a guide !

I also want to study more art history so I will be using the books I have !

Some less important goals I have are to practice piano and drawing.

Hey so it’s day 5 of @studyblr #30dol and I’ve fallen two days behind because I’ve been obsessing over the musical Hamilton like it’s 2016 again! Has anyone else watched Hamilton yet? As part of my grade in history this year I had to do a project and I decided to do Alexander Hamilton and the Federalist Papers so here’s some interesting facts I discovered while doing my research:

Hamilton was barred from formal education as a child as we was « illegitimate »

In 1772 a devastating hurricane tore through the British West Indies. Hamilton composed a long, feverish letter to his father, trying to convey the hurricane’s horror. This letter was published in the local newspaper at the time. Hamilton’s words struck astonishment into his readers. They couldn’t believe the author was only seventeen. Hamilton did not know it, but he had just written his way out of poverty. His hurricane letter generated such a sensation-even the island’s governor inquired after the young author’s identity-that “a subscription fund was taken up by the local businessmen to send this promising youth to North America to be educated”P37 Alexander Hamilton—Ron Chernow

Following the War of Independence, the Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation. The Articles of Confederation meant that each of the thirteen colonies could act like “separate countries”[1] , with their own governing power. In 1787 Hamilton was elected to represent New York in the Confederation Congress. He was a staunch advocate of a strong central government and said in Federalist Paper No.85, “A nation without a national government is, in my view, an awful spectacle”[2]  Hamilton convinced a majority of the thirteen states to reform the Articles of Confederation. In order to get the new Constitution passed, at least nine out of thirteen states had to ratify it.
