sep. 3 - sep. 9 weekly spread in my passion planner

hey everyone! i’m finally back from my incredibly long hiatus just before the next school year starts! a kind anon asked me to do a review of my most recent planner purchase-- a passion planner! i bought this planner at the end of august, so i’ve had a review weeks to use it, and so far i can say i absolutely love it! also this is NOT sponsored in any way with passion planner so it’s purely my own thoughts. this is also how i (will) use it for college and some other thoughts. so, anon, this passion planner review is dedicated to you!~

info: it’s a classic size (a4) academic dated planner in timeless black! 

price: it was $30.00 off amazon! there’s more options for colors if you buy through passion planner. compact sizes are $25.00.

options: there is a compact size that is smaller than the classic. you can also get the planner undated. i decided to go for an bigger planner so i would have more room (and because all my past planners i have owned are super small).

other: you can read all about the passion planner and what it has on their website. they even have tips, a walkthrough of the planner, and downloadables!! if you just follow the instructions on the downloads page and enter the password they send you, you can find the entire planner for free in pdf form. this is great if you just want to print out the planner!!

so, let’s flip through some of the pages i have done and give some more in-depth detail on how exactly i use the planner.

of course, my monthly spread isn’t done because the month isn’t over (i’ll be posting it later). i can’t wait to use this for college but since college doesn’t start until next week, i can really only talk about how i will use it for college (and how i’m using it for studying japanese right now). 

SPACE

i think the best thing about this planner is how much space there is. it’s pretty well balanced between personal and work (school?) life which makes it easy to separate them (and there is no need for multiple planners). i think this is important if you are using it academically since you do have a life outside of studying.

the amount of customization you can do with this planner is AMAZING. for the first week of september, i was moving into my apartment so i had a lot of sticky notes and receipts to keep track of my finances. for the next week, it was focused solely on my japanese studies so i created a little mind-map of the ways that i learn. you can use pen, pencil, washi, sticky notes, and stickers. it holds up really well with everything. i’ve yet to try stamps out with it, but it should be fine.

TIME/SCHEDULE

this planner also has times from 6:00 AM - 11:00 PM (but there is a time extender if you need it) so you can plan your day pretty spot-on (something that i absolutely love).

you don’t even need to use the time schedule if you want and i often use the space around my set time activities for writing down what i’m eating or watching that day. i’ve found that i’m able to fit most things in the space for the day. i do wish the lines were a biiiit larger, but i still like it.

EXTRAS

i haven’t shown/used the back, but it comes with blank and grid pages which are perfect for any other things you might want to make (trackers, schedule, pictures, typical bullet journal pages).

it also has monthly reflections to make sure that you getting the most out of your work. the sides of each week and month also have place to keep track of “good things that have happened this week” which you can turn into goals for the month. i’ve used mine as a “what i learned today in my japanese studies”.

the paper is also really nice! i’ve been using my muji gel pens and mildliners to write in it and they have a tendency to smudge on EVERY paper i’ve come across. but miraculously, they work extremely well with the passion planner paper. there is very little bleeding through other pages unless you press really hard. colors are also very vibrant on the paper.

i also believe people sell stickers specifically for the passion planner if you like that type of stuff! 

HOW TO USE IT FOR COLLEGE

i stated above the usefulness of the work vs personal display of the planner. when i use it for college i’ll be using it to block off chunks of time for classes and study and then plan everything else for the day around it. i like structure though.

it has a huge to-do list to help keep track of all the assignments for the week and for errands you need to run.

the “space of infinite possibility” can be filled up with drawings, downloadables, or anything else you want. this can be used for absolutely anything. i’ll be using it to track my assignments for the week.

it also has a main focus of the day which can help to keep you productive and get that one big assignment done! the space in the month page is big enough to write all due dates on!

i’ll be color-coding like crazy based on each class and priority. this planner’s paper just makes me want to write on it!

you can also make the spreads super minimalistic (which i’ll be doing once i actually go to college) and it doesn’t require a ton of upkeep (such as bullet journals do). so you can go all out or not, without tiring of keeping it looking perfect for studyblr (this happened to me with my bullet journal).

i’ll also be sticking post it notes in each week with assignments for each class and be making a grade tracker in the back of the planner!
