As an incoming freshman, what materials do you recommend getting/ are you currently using?
hmm if by materials you mean note-taking supplies and the like
Honestly I could just survive with my double ringed, unruled Muji notebooks and a laptop. A lot of the notes you see here are taken on my iPad, and it’s definitely nice and fun to write on, but I could totally just use a normal notebook LOL. So I’d just find a notebook that you really like and get a few of those. I’ve always liked the double ring notebooks that you can fold over (spiral ones work too) but I realized how useful they are in lecture because the desks in lecture halls are TINY. For writing, I use both the 0.5 G2 pens and 0.38 Muji pens (I’ve found that Muji pens run a bit thicker than most) and the Mildliner highlighters
For the classes I have to take a lot of wordy notes in (like bio or other non-stem classes), I like to use OneNote. The notebook system is too suitable for semester/quarter-long classes. I prefer OneNote (instead of Google Docs/Pages) because it opens up a lot faster and it’s easier to switch between notes because everything’s in once place. If you have a MacBook, it also maximizes nicely in multitasking mode LOL and it’s free!!
