11 study questions tag
(thanks to studyingstartstoday for tagging me!!) (so sweet omg) (this is my first tag and i'll cherish this forever)
Why did you start a studyblr/whateverblr?
Last year (which was 8th grade, I'm a freeshhhmen) I didn't have a great time at school because of... well, problems, and also because I didn't know how to study. (There was shame from external and internal sources.)
Studyblr was something I came across on my old tumblr. I knew that I could either have a terrible HS experience where I went back to my bad habits, or I could thrive and study hard and debate hard and find myself. I loved how glamorous studying was made to be on here, and I loved the positivity. No joke, the good vibes on tumblr has been one of the greatest sources of positivity in my life.
Do you follow a study routine?
I write/talk/think a lot, so I think I learn through writing and thinking things through. For subjects like science, english, and history, I like making outlines of my notes on the Pages application, using Harvard outline. I revise the order of material taught so it makes sense to me.
Japanese is hard because darn it, it's just a hard language. Vocabulary memorization is really easy; coincidental mnemonics that I can tie with English or Chinese (my 2nd language) are helpful. So is Quizlet. I also like to go over worksheets and stuff to understand grammar.
Math is hard. I go through the notes and homework that was assigned and try to find easy ways of checking my work on the test. Otherwise, it's a lot of reviewing and practicing.
What are your goals for this term/semester?
To be happy and work hard and healthy :-) Oh, and to get A's...
What are your goals for this year?
All in all, I think freshmen year is meant to just an assimilation to high school life.. I want to get my study habits and test taking strategies down for my teachers. (Oh, I also want to be bffls with my english teacher so she could write a boss recommendation letter for yearbook.)
& join a bunch of clubs to get my extracurriculars up and to win some more debate tournaments. Hopefully some trophy pics will come up in the next year! .
What are your goals for your next set of big exams?
To figure out good test taking tips... and to study earlier than everyone else so I don't burn out and die.
What’s your dream job?
I honestly don't know. I would love to do something artsy/creative like interior design but I know nothing about it.. I just decorate and clean and organize my room, and that's my only experience. I also like making jewelry, but jewelry design is hard to make a living with.
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest involves this Swedish trial of what seems like a crime case but turns out to be an elaborate civil justice case mixed with feminism and it makes me believe that, if I were a lawyer, I could accomplish progression for oppressed people.
Do you listen to music while you study?
Yes! I listen to Spotify so I have a couple artists that I frequently listen to: Architecture in Helsinski, Bonobo, Bastille, Cut Copy, Bon Iver, Sin Fang, Lemaitre, The Shins, STFKR, and Blu
Do you prefer getting study tips from written posts or from videos?
Written. It usually takes less time to read study tips.
What’s your favourite part of studying?
When I'm proud of my notes for lookin' stylish and pretty! And of course, understanding whatever I'm studying about.
Who’s your role model, both famous and personal?
I like sunnystrong a lot because she also had problems with eating disorders and cutting. And, she overcame everything and is such an admirable person, even without her hardships.
I generally look up to anyone who works hard and is humble (and also positive.) So many athletes and youtubers come into my mind and there's too many to list all of them. Some of them them -- Jake Blauvelt, Gabriel Medina, Lakey Peterson, Coco Ho, Stale Sandbech, Nyjah Houston, Joe & Zoella Sugg, and on and on.
What are your study essentials?
My extensive notes, laptop, music, Stabilos, post its, and lots of water. Possibly yoga, nap, or tumblr breaks in between.

My questions:
Where do you want to live when you grow up?
What is your favorite way of taking notes?
Where do you like to sit in class? (Like, in the middle, up front, way in the back)
Do you have a superstition for good luck before a test?
What's your favorite thing to do for study breaks?
Describe your dream study space with 3 words.
What's your pump up routine when you're feeling down?
Favorite non-academic class? (It could be an elective that you took before.)
What's your best memory of this year so far?
Describe your favorite/most helpful type of studyblr post.
Writing utensil of choice?
I tag (sorry if you've already been tagged & have to do this again)
