These are the edited photos. I’ve tried to lay them out on my blog in a similar way to what I would present them. I’ve tried to keep a consistent colour. There are a lot of pink tones in this that I like. The top right image doesn’t have a lot of pink, but I think that the colours in the background connect it to the photo next to it. To get the pink tones I used the gradient map again, but I used it on a slightly higher opacity to achieve brighter colours, because I wasn’t that happy with the brightness of the colours in the original prints.
I used the Curves adjustment in a lot of my photos because the gradient map took a lot of the contrast out of the photos. I brought a lot more black into each photo. I didn’t want to bring any more white because some of the photos were already slightly overexposed because the day was so sunny.
I also used a Gaussian blur and masked it on a couple of the photos to take away some of the detail that I felt was distracting.
From the feedback of my classmates, I’m going to print these on Canson Rag Photographique again. I really liked how the matte worked with all the different autumn colours and think it would be the most effective for my photos.

After the feedback from my classmates, I went back through my pictures and picked new photos. My thought process for picking these photos is that each photo is connected to another photo in the series. For example, the horizontal lines in the bench photo are almost level to the lines in the photo of the photo of the tree and house, and the also connect to the other photo of the model sitting down.
Then, when I present it, the photo of the model walking can sit above the photo of the model sitting in the street. The lines from the gutter of the road will lead up into that photo. Then, the overexposed leaves in that photo will connect with the close up.
When I edit these, I want to make them a lot brighter, introduce more playful colours such as pink and red, and also blur out some of the backgrounds that can be distracting.
I chose a couple of photos from the photos I took in the park and did some quick editing on them, because I had a printing session with Gabe later that week and I wanted to have something to print out.
When editing these photos, I used a pink and white gradient map on the images I also played with adjusting the saturation and contrast.
I decided I wanted to try using matte paper for printing on. I hadn’t used it in my photos before, but I know that matte gives off a nostalgic feel and I thought this might work. After printing with Gabe and learning in class I think I have the knack of printing at school. The top right image, Gabe helped me print and gave me instructions. I printed the bottom image on my own and at first I had some problems because I thought I had changed the paper size and hadn’t, but I figured it out before I printed it.
I showed these photos in class when we gave peer feedback. I got a lot of helpful feedback from the people in my class. The main feedback I got was that the colours in each photo weren’t very similar. This is probably because I didn’t edit them that carefully. Before I print again I’m going to make sure all my photos have similar colour palettes. Also, one of my classmates pointed out that the photo on the bottom should probably be rotated so the horizon line is straight, and I like that idea. It’s a technique I think I’ll use in all my photos.
Some photos I took at the park near my house. I found that the park worked well because there were a lot of bold colours coming from the playground, grass and autumn leaves. I decided to have my model be alone in these photos, because, in spite of the playfulness of the photos, there still the idea that the model is uncomfortable showing her true self. Therefore, she is isolating herself from other people.
