Russian study session at uni. Our end-of-semester very important test will come soon, and as I revise, I realise I've learned quiet a lot of grammar without actually being able to express many differing thoughts - but as I'm still on top of that class and as russian is always described to be a hard to learn language, I'm trying not to get too frustrated right now...

Some things I’d like to accomplish this week:

✅ Finish reading the old man & the sea.

✅ finish studying arrythmias

✅ get ahead on gyn & obs

As I am finally done with that metaphysics stuff (for now) I started conceptualizing the essay of roughly 15 pages I have to write about the medieval church's definition and treatment of concubinage. It's due pretty fucking soon, so expect me to pull an all nighter next weekend. For now I'm happy with my own first proposal of how to structure my thesis, which basically is that concubinage in the eyes of the medieval church is nothing but a moralistic word summarizing any and all immoral (hetero)sexuality (interestingly besides prostitution), which was installed in order to standardize their doctrine of Christian marriage as the only accepted and executed form of sexuality. In most pre-christian european societies, concubinage-like relationships were not considered as morally bad, or even prohibited by law, but a few hundred years down the road and a little bit of Christian influence would change that.

But please don't just believe this, I don't yet know if I will have to change my thesis after reading more about the topic and working with more actual sources.
