Might have to move into another student accommodation and I am terrified. My last experience was beyond awful with literal cockroaches, dirty roommates and all i did was drink and party and burn out from working too much. I literally did minimal amount of uni work.
However this time I’m looking at studios they’re so expensive but right on the university doorstep. Literally no idea what to do.

Today, I finished moving from my old dorm room (left) to my new one (right). It's smaller and it will take me a bit of time to adjust but I am happy. The view outside is incredible (excuse my shitty camera) so I am hoping that having a study desk beside my window will motivate me to study more. I felt very sad leaving my old dorm room even though I had only lived there for five months. But as life progresses, I have to learn to let go and move onto better things even if it is uncomfortable and painful.

Anyone who's been in student accommodation or any other situation where you had a shared kitchen with people you didn't know beforehand how did you work out how to divide up shelf/cupboard/fridge space? Because I may be doing that in September and at the visit I had they said something along the lines of there's a cupboard for each person, but idk if they're actually assigned or you have to discuss it together? Like did you all get together to talk about it? Because that seems most logical but I keep imagining this scenario where I go and I don't know how to start a conversation and nobody especially approaches each other about it, and then I just have to work out these unspoken rules? That's probably not what happens right? Everyone needs to work things out together? And yes I'm autistic
