Studebaker introduced an attractive new station wagon model in 1954. The suitably named Conestoga was also available as the 'Ambulet', a handy ambulance conversion package that included stretcher, durable plastic & vinyl surfaces, switch & wiring for sirens and Ambulance red cross decals. These affordable vehicles were popular with small town community Police & Fire departments and funeral home operators who were often called upon to handled ambulance work.
