"Yesterday I posted a pretty emotional video in my Sisterhood tribes FB group. I shared my experience of having my first ever individual, professional photoshoot. I talked about the insecurities we feel on the inside, regardless of how others may perceive us. In fact the assumption by many of my followers is that I'm uber confident, which makes it even harder to confess that I am often very shy. Angel Sinclair, founder of @modelsofdiversity invited me to try out their new workshop designed to empower every woman to feel beautiful NOW, not some time in future WHEN you hope to reach a stage you'll feel happy. That time is probably not coming ladies. I cannot tell you how many times I have set myself a goal and promised myself when I get there, I would finally feel happy. That moment never came. Even when I lost 4 stone. Even when I first got a 6 pack. Even when I got on stage. I had talked to others on many occasions why this was, but secretly deep down I knew why. No matter how good I looked on the outside, I couldn't see it and I couldn't feel it. The more people who told me I "should be proud" and I was "so lucky", the more ashamed I felt for not feeling confident. Yesterday, with the support of expert Angel Sinclair and under the gentle and supportive guidance of @jamesalexanderlyon the photographer, I went on an unspoken journey that healed many cracks in my heart. More than just having a picture taken. More than just posing in front of a camera. Here is the result. This is me, loving myself.
