I've been waiting for some time to post this, so I hope you'll bear with me for a few. June 12th, the last day of Lock & Load will be my last day at Privateer Press. This past winter, after the success of my project, The Book of Starry Wisdom, a number of other projects landed in my lap and it became clear that if I wanted to pursue these opportunities I would not be able to do so while maintaining a full time job. In late March, I gave my notice at Privateer, offering to stay on through Lock & Load to make sure the transition would be as easy on my co-workers as possible.

I've been at Privateer for just over 8 years, since April of 2008. I moved to Seattle for a job packing miniatures. I did so with the encouragement of then Quartermaster, Dan “Biggie” Brandt, to whom I owe much. Over the following years I worked as a packer, a metal caster and eventually a staff writer and community coordinator during a time when Privateer was not just finding its footing with the nascent blossoming of social media, but also during the transition from WARMACHINE Mk I to Mk II. Over the better part of a decade I've had the distinct privilege of working with dozens of the smartest, most talented, and motivated people I have ever met. To thank everyone at Privateer would be virtually impossible, but Matt Wilson, Sherry Year, Jason Soles, and everyone here have my eternal gratitude.

Moving forward, I will be spending my time devoted to getting Strix Publishing out of its monstrous nest and into the air. Art books, occult tomes, Lovecraftian fiction, and a game or two, are all on the way (some of them soon to arrive in your mailboxes if you backed The Book of Starry Wisdom last fall!). Currently my time is devoted to the Problem Glyphs art book Kickstarter, and preparing APOCRYPHA: The Art of Jason Soles for launch on Kickstarter on June 27th. I will also be handling social media for Seattle’s Raygun Lounge beginning in July and generally pursuing any interesting opportunities that may present themselves. I don't plan to sleep much.

I hope to see many of you at Lock & Load this weekend, and again at Gen Con which will be the first time I attend without working a booth since 2007, when I first saw Privateer in action, drank too much with Soles, and determined it was the place for me.
