She is the queen of an all-women kingdom (Stri-rajya) that Arjun encounters on his quest to follow Yudhishthira's ashvamedha yajna's horse. It is believed that a man who gets married to any woman who lives there dies within the next month/year [depending on the version].

Pramila captures Arjun's horse and challenges him to either marry her or die in battle. Arjun chooses to fight. He very nearly kills her and is only stopped from doing so by the devas.

And the fact that that would make her automatically queer cuz she attended Chitrangada's daughter's swayamvar in Kalinga.

And maybe the idea of Strirajya also came from that fact alone that they followed a matrilineal system in society

When I tried to find it was saying the kingdom was somewhere in Bhutan or was Bhutan (which won't be wrong ig.. since Kamrup spread through all of Assam, Bhutan and North Bengal...)

Also since Kamrup has no mention in the Mahabharat we can safely assume Strirajya was there no?
