at first I thought this was a cigarette and I thought that for a long time before rewatching the episode.

Like, “why would he smoke indoors in a room full of BABIES ????he tryna look cool in front of Barbara smoking & in his troll form”

Its time to get excited once again for Stricklake month!!

As I've been doing for the past two years, I'm hosting Stricklake month. I'm releasing the prompts a month in advance for people to have time to prep their prompts and for new people to decide if they want to take part. The event will run for the entire duration of August.

Prompts for this year are as follows:

Week one: Time loop/Interdimensional (1st-7th August)

Week two: Accident/Choice (8th-14th August)

Week three: Resurrection/After life (15th-21st August)

Week four: Crime/Innocent (22nd-28th August)

Final roundup: (29th-31st August)

For those new to Stricklake month, take a look at last years final roundup to get a idea of what people have done for the month, HERE. All mediums are welcome, as long as the main focus remains on the relationship between Barbara Lake/Walter Strickler. Like last year, Jim is free to make guest appearances as part of the knife family, so you can indulge in all the family fluff (Jimbo loves to photobomb these lovebirds).

You're welcome to fill in as many or as little prompts as you'd like for any of the weeks, there's no pressure! Just make sure to tag your fills with #keenswimmers2026. This makes it easier to find content! Also, this year I'll have a bit of help with the first two week's roundup posts from @undeadchestnut so look out for those! I'll be still doing the last two roundup posts as well as the final roundup.

In the first episode he craves adventure, for there to be more then just high school, which hey sounds familiar to Belle in her song asking for the exact same thing.

Claire is pretty much cursed by the Pale Lady in canon, so for this au I would have Morgana approach Claire to take her on as her apprentice, as she can feel Claire haveing a strong connection to magic, but Claire says no. Being pissed that's she was slighted, she turns Claire into a Beast of darkness, the castle taken over by shadow magic. Claire's family and friends are either turned to stone, or turned into something entirely.

Mary is a talking mirror, and I’m not sure what for Darcy

Jim's mom is a herbal doctor in the village and disappears on her way to another village to help someone sick, but the whole movie plot with wolves happens and Jim goes to find his mom and turns up at the castle.

I think I'm going to do the plot with Barbara a bit different, her staying with him in the castle, her falling in love with one of the castles grotesques aka Walt, who was Claire’s tutor before the curse

Bular would be a main antagonist, not really having a Gaston type, I won't do that to Steve. But Bular more so wanting Jim to join him in the hunt of the witch and Beast.
