➜ miani trend setter ?! ༉‧₊˚. before hippers became a thing ◞ charms were already just as popular ◞ claire learned about juhoon's love for turtles the moment she came across those lucky turtle charms. of course, she couldn't afford the whole set, and she was the type of kid who never wanted her parents to spend too much on her ◞ so she found another way. જ⁀➴ㅤ for his birthday, she gave him his very first turtle charm ◞ the green turtle for good health and well-being, and the orange turtle for positive energy and happiness.

"you get mad sooo fast," juhoon sang, giggling into both hands. his shoulders bounced as he laughed, "because you..." claire pointed at him, searching for the perfect insult. "...whatever..." she puffed out her cheeks. "...major loser." ㅤㅤ"major loser," juhoon echoed at the exact same time. claire groaned so loudly, "stop copying me!" ◞ "i'm not copying!" juhoon protested between giggles. "i just know what you're gonna say now."
after another eye roll, claire carefully placed the little velvet box in front of him. ◞ "...fine." she huffed through her nose. "you can open your eyes now."◞ juhoon gasped the second he lifted the lid. inside sat two tiny turtle charms. "cai..." his voice became surprisingly quiet. "you didn't have to buy me something." ◞ "i did!" claire interrupted before he could finish. she puffed up proudly. "i saved my own money. i didn't even buy mikmik for, like... two whole weeks." ◞ "...really?" she nodded so hard her ponytail bounced. ◞ "they're lucky turtles." she picked one up with careful fingers. "grandma says turtles bring good luck. so now you'll have extra." juhoon turned one over in his tiny hands. it caught the light, shining green and gold. "they're cool..." ◞ "i know." ◞ "and every year," claire declared, "i'm gonna give you two turtles." ◞
