#stream wonder

okay so i wanna start by saying i’m not letting anything ruin this era for me, Shawn’s showing growth and i wanna enjoy this to the fullest.

1- the music video :

i feel like not many people talk about the countdown and that in itself was different. the way even the count down took part and included the intro had me hooked. the speaking part telling us we were about to enter a new world was a great way to start a new era.

do y’all hear me when i say REPRESENTATION !!! the fact he had a black lead and black back up dancers it meant so much to me (and probably so many other black stans) like i was so caught off guard ya girl was shook !! i would love to see more representation moving forward too.

let’s talk about the cinematography because wow ! from the opening train scene to the end scene with him on that cliff (can i call it that???). the forest scene when he started dancing ?!?! our boy ain’t stiff no more next thing you know he’ll be throwing it back on stage lmaooo. i mean it was so good to see him moving around and dancing and you know what we call that ??? growth !!!

Shawn dancing around on the cliff made him look like he was so free and i think that says a lot about how to perceive this era and how it’s gonna go

shoutout to Matty, Connor, and Shawn for that amazing music video & concept i never would’ve guessed we would’ve gotten that

2- the song :

whew where do i begin....the lyrics are everything. if you take time to truly sit and listen to the lyrics and digest them the song has a beautiful message.

i think this song if anything is about self love and stepping away from those toxic traits of second guessing yourself and constantly worry about the what if’s.

let talk about the line “i wonder when i cry into my hands i’m conditioned to feel less like it makes me less of a man” if you’ve been in this fandom you know how everyone likes to speculate over this one part of Shawn and that’s his sexuality. i think he’s spent so long trying to hide the feminine side he has because every time people would turn it into something it’s not. i mean he grew up around some strong women how could he not be in touch with his feminine side ya know. and i think that specific line is important because i think he’s trying to contribute to ending toxic masculinity and the stereotypes that come with it
