I have a question that I'd love some feedback on. This comes from my experience with music over many, many years, here in the US...
Why do they (HYBE? BigHit? K-Pop in general?) come out with multiple versions of a song? And, why do they literally do it within a short time-span after the original is released?
In my experience from a young person up to my current age, all of the many many bands and musicians that I loved released single versions of songs, about 80% of the time... I'm leaving room for corrections, as I cannot say absolutely that they didn't have more than one version. This expands decades, here. I'm that far along in life.
When HYBE releases 5 or so versions of a song, it kind of feels like they are doing so because they can, and because they know it will generate profits for the company. They KNOW that ARMYs worldwide will support someone like Jimin, if they release multiple versions of a song, simply because it is Jimin.
Sometimes, it feels like they are milking it for all that they can get..... you know?
This commentary isn't a reflection on Jimin, in any way. 💜 It is about the people who are in position to make decisions about what is released, and such...
Somehow, I just don't get it.
Instead of releasing a mini-album with 7 tracks, then releasing multiple versions of a song, why not simply produce a FULL ALBUM with 12 songs? That's what they used to do....
As I mentioned above, this is not about Jiminie. I just sit and wonder sometimes, why HYBE and BigHit do some of the things that they do. Maybe it is because I am old school, and grew up in very different times. Maybe it is because I actually would love a full album with 10-12 different songs, by Park Jimin....😁
Maybe I just need to stay quiet, and just hold space for whatever.... I mean, we could just blame my Mercury in Aries here (it's need for understanding and truth!!).... lol... I digress...🙄
I'm open to commentary that helps me understand, as I obviously need it. It's just sometimes, I realize that I need to reach out to others who actually understand the why's, so that I can too.
