All this talk about curses lately ( I'm more than likely end up using them on that asscunt, too ), struck up a question in my head; are there BLESSINGS we can perform on people we know online? I know I'm not the only one with friends I only know online but want to help ( and frankly I'd like to use one on maythefoxbewithyou ). Not something to make them IGNORANT of their troubles, but maybe to actually help them deal/ cope and send peaceful feelings their way?
There are ways to cast long-distance blessings, yes. Just be careful with that, because unasked-for blessings can be their own kind of curse.
Curses are meant to be cast without the target's knowledge or permission, but if you're going to bless someone, it's better to ask them first, so that your efforts don't tangle anything up or fizzle or go awry.
In it's simplest form, you can simply tell the party that you're sending love or healing thoughts, or that you're appealing to your chosen deity/ies (if you're religious) for their grief to be eased. That way, there's no specific blessing and much less chance of anything going screwball; you're just sending that energy out and when it arrives, it can go where it's needed.
It's a lovely thought and you're very nice to want to help maythefoxbewithyou. When these awful things happen, it can mean the world to a bereaved person to know that someone cares.
