Clouds for thee!
WHOAH that's a lotta cloud!
Now, cloud height is a little tricky to tell when there's little to no height information, But! There's a bird top left so I've got this.
Looks like altostratus opacus stratiformis, stratocumulus castellanus and stratus fractus clouds.
Good spotting!
Actually, while I still remember, I have some pictures from when I was in Tasmania visiting family!
Starting off strong with my first ever cirrus vertebratus! Very exciting stuff!
And later that same arrival day, nimbostratus mammatus with virga!
Another nimbostratus mammatus the next day,
Altocumulus stratiformis and cumulus mediocris with virga! And the wallaby I saw on the walk to that view.
And, not a cloud, but the awful photo I took of the aurora!
Unfortunately I didn't get any other non-blurry photos, let alone any of clouds, so this is what I have to show for the week I spent there! Unless you want to see the buttons I bought.
some pretty clouds! my dad was wondering what they were and i said "i know someone who can help us"
That looks like altocumulus stratiformis undulatus to me!
Great spotting!!
dunno if these pictures are any good for identifying, but i thought you might enjoy seeing the clouds from above :) plus a glory!
Clouds from above are more difficult to identify, because I can't go off my usual height tells, but they're not impossible!
First image is definitely cumulus or cumuliform, though I'm not 100% certain what it is exactly. Current thought is cumulus congestus stratiformis.
Second image looks to be altocumulus stratiformis perlucidus with a glory.
What's interesting here is that, usually, a glory will be visible in either fog or stratus cloud. But here's a glory - a double-ringed one, by the looks of it!

Some miscellaneous cloud photos from my camera roll that I thought would be interesting 😄 The first one looked really crazy in person, the clouds were in that pattern across the entire sky!
Oooh, a lot of variety here!
Image 1 is altocumulus undulatus stratiformis
Image 2 is a little harder for me to tell, but looks to be altostratus undulatus and altocumulus clouds
Image 3 seems to be nimbostratus praecipitatio with stratus fractus pannus, though it's shape did make it look almost like a cumulonimbus!
And finally, image 4 is cirrus intortus.
Great spotting!
I always love seeing such classic cloud types. Feels like meeting an old friend.
Altocumulus perlucidus stratiformis and cumulus fractus clouds.
Great spotting!
Oh wow holy shit! Hope everyone's okay! And that it wasn't your car!
The clouds are Stratocumulus stratiformis
Hope you're safe!
