I wanted to ask you this well it’s two questions
1) Is this a glitch? Because in map view it looks like the road to the curious house is gone but in lot, it’s not
2) Do you plan on making a strangetown with the PSP and DS/GBA and PC sims?
Hi Jace! Here are the answers you seek:
That is a visual annoyance for sure, although I'm unsure what triggered it for you. To investigate I opened a fresh Strangeytown but didn't see it on my end:
To help explain, Maxis "illegally" placed the Curious Bros' lot on a spot that the game wouldn't normally accept without cheats/mods. (The terrain is uneven AND lots don't normally snap to the end/edge of a road). For this reason, I didn't move the Curious Brother's during Strangey/Stranger hood construction. So, I'm sorry you have that missing road chunk but the good news is that it's somewhat easily fixable:
In game, move the lot to another part of the map temporarily then move it back. The road should fix itself once lot is snapped back into place BUT it will have to be one grid-square away from the end of the road like so:
If this also bothers you, other solutions include:
Use "modifyNeighborhoodTerrain [on/off]" cheat to adjust the road/terrain level so it's even again. To do this, first move the lot away from the problem area, then enter the cheat (no square brackets, just "on" or "off" as required). Your in-game cursor will now show a very small green square when cheat is in effect. Click and drag the green highlight over the targeted problem terrain like so:
Then press the blackslash "\" key to level the area. (You can also use the square brackets keys to go Up or Down, but leveling out is what will help here.) Once the area is nice and flat, the lot will be good to place BUT it still won't accept the end/edge road so this solution is only 50% useful, lol. I include it since playing with the terrain is moreorless the problem here/why the road is glitching out.
Mootilda's program Lot Adjuster is helpful to snap lots on spots that the game normally wouldn't accept, and for that you can review a small tutorial I wrote here.
You can also try SimPE road editor (a great tutorial can be found here by @kayleigh-83 ). Maybe you'd like to extend the road into more of an L-shape so it follows the row of satellites? That could look nice + useful! If you do that, the lot will accept a corner road no problemo. (You'll likely need to re-snap it, aka pick it up then place it down again once the new road is installed.)
Important note: Any of these suggestions will make permanent changes to your hood. No "undo" button. Make sure you keep a backup copy of your current Strangey save before finding the solution that works for you.
2. As for your second question re: Strangesttown (GBA/PSP/DS/PC), I continue to resist making that version because I lack the time, patience, and interest in the project. I encourage any and all Strangetown lovers to give it a shot, you'll find all the pieces to the puzzle on my blog, just remember to give credit when credit is due. :)
Good luck! If you need more, my messages are open. :)
