who: rafael @strangersfms
where: luca's house
Luca had never been comfortable keeping secrets. As a child, he'd practically burst at the seems whenever he'd been tasked with silence. As he'd grown, though, they'd become more of a necessity, a small boundary he'd put in place to protect his privacy. Still, keeping secrets had always felt contrary to who he was as a person and having to keep his relationship a secret was the most difficult task of all. It wasn't that Luca was ashamed of himself or of his relationship. On the contrary, if he'd been a normal person with a normal life, he would've been only too proud to show off his relationship, but he'd given up his chances at normal when he'd signed his first professional contract. Now, he was resigned to clandestine dates and furtive glances.
"Hey, thanks for coming," Luca greeted as he opened the front door and stepped aside so that the other man could make his way in. When Rafael had made his way through, Luca closed the door, ensuring it was locked before he followed. He'd drawn the curtains and set out candles. It was an attempt at maintaining his hard fought for privacy masked by a paltry attempt at romance, he knew. All of the precautions were getting on his nerves. "I haven't started dinner yet. So, if you're insanely hungry, we can just order takeout."
