Not my usual thing to post life snapshots. But today is the day that the weather broke here where I live. 7 degrees C outside in the middle of the day, and pouring with rain. When you live through summers with the constant threat of bushfire, this is the day of the year when you can finally relax for a good 6 months. Roast Chicken, tumblr, wine (don’t usually drink), car racing and football on the TV. The Sabbath.

i've just done a two day road trip to visit my family (approx 1700 km in about 20 hours) and even though I was being very careful to stay far far far away from any active bushfires (impossible: the entire country is burning) i basically spent two days driving through smoke so thick it may as well have been fog. at one point I deadass looked up at the sky and saw a blood red sun. it's fucked out there.
