Reading sim stories that depict declining or problematic relationships is interesting because at first I don't know what the author's intention is! I think this is because in a lot of films and movies, unhealthy relationships are often shown to be fine/just apart of the relationship. So, that causes me to internalize certain tropes and look past problematic aspects like being ignored/dealing with another person in the relationship/etc. 'cause true love conquers all, right? Meanwhile in sims stories, to see one character go through a lengthy relationship with another - only to say, "I don't love you anymore." or, "you took a lot from me" I am amazed.
In particular I'm referring to Mattia and Michaela by @joannebernice as well as Tasha and Cleo by @straightouttasimulation π₯² I loved seeing how you all depict a nontraditional, struggling relationship.
