Doctor Who / Inside No 9 reunion??

Inside No 9 is written and directed by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, who also very frequently play various roles in the episodes. 

On Monday, Jenna Coleman will play Beattie in the Inside No. 9 episode “Death Be Not Proud” (series 5 episode 2).

Jenna had already met Reece Shearsmith during the filming of the Doctor Who episode “Sleep no More” (series 9 episode 9), in which Shearsmith played the antagonist Gagan Rassmussen, who had created the Sandmen, before becoming one himself, and was trying to unleash them on all of humanity via a glitch in the recording of the events of this episode. 

We don’t know much about the upcoming episode of Inside No 9 in which Jenna will once again be playing the leading role, but it is certainly possible that Shearsmith will be making an appearance in the episode, in one way or another. 

In fact, “Sleep No More” wasn’t the first time that Reece Shearsmith played a Doctor Who character. Back in 2013, he portrayed Patrick Trouton (who had played the second Doctor from 1966-1969) in the biographical film “An Adventure in Time and Space”. 

Steve Pemberton has also already appeared in Doctor Who, as Strackman Lux in the episodes “Silence in the Library”, and “Forest of the Dead” (series 4 episodes 8 and 9).
