ok ok ok sooo im listening to raye right escapism so the sliding doors version of that is where my brain is. I feel like diverging timelines can only work in universes without cellphones because they completely change the way time works. The world has too much access to you otherwise

Hours after brutal and confrontational break up , Gale makes the decision to get out and get fucked, in every way possible . On his way there he bumps into an old lady carrying a stack of books and they tumble to the floor, in one version he stays to pick up the books and help her into her apartment, in the other he murmurs a sorry over his shoulder and dashes out, the third divergence-just as he's about to leave his apartment the phone rings and he picks it up.

I think the first time split where gale stays and helps the old lady with her books, he ends up spending time with her that evening. Hes distraught but he's taking the time to help her and she sees that and she really looks after him.. she's got an insane library in her little (big) apartment and she's a collector or something.. of rare books maybe , gale helps her put them all away and a couple hours into this who should walk in but.... HER nephew BUCKY EGAN, who happens to be staying with her for a little bit and has just come out of [REDACTED]

In the second time split he's out the door and onto the street and hes looking for trouble and finds it, ends up at some crazy house party, blacks out for a couple days and makes it home with little to no recollection of them he wakes up to banging on his door because he's fallen asleep trying to run a bath and there is a leak going into the apartment below him which is fucking up his neighbour (johns aunts)books,

In the third time split the phone rings, he picks up and it's his ex...

It AMAZESSSSS me the things you write the way you build a story like a mason the villagers had to seek out many miles away in the big city only to be told there was no way they would ever get on the slate that year perhaps never there’s only one stone mason of this particular caliber for miles around idk is this making sense !??

Your sentences!!! The way you get the most devastating and psychological scouring thoughts off In like 5 words ! You communicate the most complex ideas so simply DECEPTIVELY simply mind you . Bc help .

You’re always like I don’t have ideas ( not true ) but like you take the tiniest threads and weave them into these insanely detailed tapestries with whole lives in them . The way you pace things , the way you write dialogue !!!! It baffles me because the way you are always ALWAYS STILL TELLING the story and being incredible true to who the characters are -there’s so much emphasis on what they are not saying as they are saying something and how they are saying something makes me as a reader feel so so involved with what’s going on and terrifyingly close to them .

So many examples of this but good will hunting au especially all the conversations they had were incredibly claustrophobic I was like should go I should give them their privacy lmao ( meanwhile I’m in my bed or on the train not anywhere near them?m) idk how you are able to capture a moment the way you do but you do it !
