It’s #tbt Throwback Thursday and #RailSafetyWeek. In November 1923, the Central of Georgia’s monthly magazine—The Right Way—published a “safety first” issue. The cover featured a worker being fitted with safety goggles. The magazine frequently contained a column by “Safety Sam,” who reminded readers that the railroad provided “every available mechanical device” (including the latest durable, fireproof goggles) to protect its employees.
