stopnswop- it probably was just a dumb mistake on the writers part but there’s a part of me that’s kinda headcanon-ing that M knew Lester was possibly going to be in LS because Lester’s from California, more specifically San Fierro... and he was even around Silicon Valley back when it was starting up with IBM in the early 80s but (of course) managed to piss a bunch of people off and is generally blacklisted by them so he leaves beautiful sunny SF to become the creepy, precious li’l shut-in we kknow. The snow and the cold and dark suit him much better anyway. He could have been a part of all the big greats out in the sun but he found himself suited to the shadier shit (though, he would never admit it, he’s still bitter af and I bet most of the men who have snubbed him watch their back for him)
