When you stocher for the first time
I've been chilling out around Tübingen lately, so I figured I should make a post about something that happened a couple weeks ago that I never wrote about.
Stocherkahnrennen! Basically people are racing in their Stocherkahn (long boat pushed and steered by a long pole). They steered their boat around the island in the Neckar River.
We got there a little late; this is one of the major events in Tübingen and so the bridges and island were flooded with people!
Our seats were ok, but the race was pretty great. There were some interesting outfits and some interesting styles of paddling (because the other team members help out). There were collisions, people in the water, and a lot of boats! All in all, a great event.
