Thinking about Din looking after Kitten and Grogu when they have the flu. 🥰
(I have the flu 🤒)
Awww I'm sorry you're under the weather! Flu's can knock you off your feet completely.
And if you're anything like Medic, being bedridden is a fate worse than death when all she wants to do is anything but rest the way she's supposed to. Especially if Grogu is ill. No matter how much Din tries to convince her that he's got it, she wants to be the one nursing him even if she's half delirious.
Therefore, because of her personality, Din sometimes has to get quite antagonistic to get her to behave and stay in bed. She's a pro at verbal sparring and as sharp as a tack, but she won't realize she cannot take care of Grogu while sick herself unless Din shoves the fact in her face.
This'll doubtlessly be done when he presses her back into the mattress when she tries to get up with a firm growl of,
"You think you're in any state to be doing anything right now? Least of all caring for the kid?"
She's weak as the kitten he compares her to, trying to resist, sweating and feverish and he's angry at her for neglecting her own well-being when he adores her so thoroughly. His grip might just be a little too hard on her shoulders, keeping her lying down until she wears herself out.
Once it's out of her system though, she'll mellow and so will he. It'll be a case of firm holds turning to gentle caresses, a promise to follow her notes to the letter on how to take care of sick babies so long as she takes her medicine and gets back under the covers.
Grogu won't even have it half as bad as she does, but she still demands an update on the little guy when Din comes back to take care of her. She's in la la land but he still knows better than to take her lightly, so he spends the entire time he's looking after her playing along like he's one of her subordinates in the medical bay she thinks she's in.
He knows its' wrong, especially since she's sick, but Din can't help but think she's utterly adorable with every slurred command she gives him on his own ship. Again.
