NAME: Morticia Addams
NICKNAMES: Tish
AGE: 38
ROOMMATES: Gomez Addams
OCCUPATION: Apothecary at La Rose Noire
EDUCATION: N/A
"I'm just like any modern woman trying to have it all. Loving husband, a family. It's just, I wish I had more time to seek out the dark forces and join their hellish crusade."
FAMILY: Gomez Addams (husband), Pugsley and Wednesday Addams (children)
MARITAL STATUS: Married to Gomez Addams
HISTORY: Growing up, Morticia never quite fit in with her family. They were dreadfully normal, but they never made her feel bad about her peculiarities. Their ancestors were descended from Salem, but she seemed to be the only one who cared about that, and she was studying witchcraft and learning the properties of plants while her schoolmates went to dances and talked about boys. When her older sister, Ophelia, turned eighteen, her mother arranged for her to meet the son of an old school friend. Gomez Addams took an immediate disliking to Ophelia and fell for Morticia instead.
He was her match in every way, and he lavished affection on her. When Ophelia fell in love with his cousin, they were free to marry. In her romanticized version of things, Morticia likes to think her life didn’t really begin until she met Gomez. She couldn’t be prouder of their children or happier about their life together, and she spends most of her days clipping the buds off the roses, feeding her carnivorous plant, Cleopatra, gifted to her by Jack Skellington, and brewing remedies and potions for her apothecary business, La Rose Noire, that she runs from her home.
FABLEVERSE: When the world changed, the Addams family wasn’t very much shaken. It wasn’t unlike their old world, after all, and they had always thrived on strangeness. The Addams family never had much trouble finding Halloweentown when they wanted to, and maintaining those friendships was easier than ever there, though it was off-putting to see them without their magic. She counted Sally Finkelstein among her closest friends, and Jack Skellington was a frequent visitor as well. She’s not above a little meddling if it will help her friends find the same happiness she has with Gomez.

Jack had more than enough time to second guess having dinner with Sally. Spending time alone with her at the funeral home or out in public at the fall festival was one thing, but having dinner together at her place was something else entirely. In hindsight, it probably wasn't a good idea, but he wasn't the type to back out of things. He didn't think of himself as a necessarily good person, but he could be a person who kept his word. He also couldn't bring himself to show up empty handed, so he picked up a bottle of red wine on his way. It was only a little bit sad that he didn't already have anything suitable in his apartment. He knocked on her door promptly at 7:30.
When he left Queenly Pastries, Jack didn't allow himself to put off speaking to Sally any longer. The funeral home was typically quiet as he entered, pastry box in hand. He could have just left it on her desk the way he did with Shock's, but it would have been cowardly. "Sally?" He called tentatively into the silence.
tish & sally || it’s my party & i’ll die if i want to

After a rocky start in her search for decorations, the rest of the party had come together smoothly. Addams' manor was decked out in tasteful purple and black, with people spilling out the front and back doors. They'd invited everyone, of course, whether they knew Sally directly or not, and she suspected plenty of people just showed up to have a look at the house and its rather strange occupants. For once, Morticia’s characteristic black dress didn't stand out in a crowd and, for once, she didn't mind. This was Sally's night. Now, if she could only get that wayward skeleton to see things her way. She watched the dancing and mingling from the sidelines, sipping from a cocktail that was smoking faintly. "I hope you're enjoying yourself?" she inquired when someone drifted close enough to talk.
Sally couldn’t help but look around in awe at what her old friends had done for her to celebrate. There were people she knew, and others she didn’t, and she didn’t care either way. She couldn’t help but watch out of the corners of her eyes for glimpses of one particular person, and continued to chastise herself for it. Sipping on a drink similar to her friends, she slid up to her elbow with a small smile. “This is perfect, Morticia,” she smiled easily at her and raised her glass in a small toast.
"Only the best for our friends." Her smile actually touched her eyes, and she raised her glass briefly in reply before she took a sip. "He's here," she added nonchalantly, but there was a thread of something else in it. Jack Skellington could be stubborn and difficult, but he wouldn't dare cross her on something like this. If he missed Sally's birthday, she would feed him to her carnivorous plant.
Sally sputtered lightly on her drink before clearing her throat and draining more of it. To her credit, she didn’t try to prevaricate and simply shrugged. “He’s busy, Tish, and that’s okay.” She was used to her world revolving more around him than his did around her, and was entirely okay with it.
Morticia sipped her drink and pretended she didn't notice. "The only business he has at your birthday party is catering to your every whim," she said coolly. She and Jack didn't see eye to eye on how to treat the woman he loved. That he hadn't yet admitted he loved Sally was totally irrelevant to her.
Sally shook her head slowly and sipped on her drink. “No, Tish, he has other things to do,” she sighed softly, not ever thinking she really deserved his time or attention, especially when he seemed like he would much rather expend his attention in other places.
"We'll see about that," she murmured. She had plans for Jack Skellington tonight, and they didn't involve him skulking on the sidelines. "Are you enjoying yourself so far?"
Sally didn’t even try to protest Tish’s machinations, knowing it wouldn’t do any good and absolutely loving the woman for it. “Of course! Everything is perfect,” she was very quick with the answer. “I’m really excited to see how people handle midnight,” she chuckled.
Few people could stand in the way of Morticia getting what she wanted, but Jack was, apparently, one of those stubborn few. She'd wear him down eventually. "Not long now," she noted with a sly smile and a glance at the clock. "Of course we had to include some mischief in the celebration, or it wouldn't be right. I sent the children to round up any guests who might have wandered." Technically, with one exception, they weren't children anymore, but they were still her children.
Sally let out a happy laugh, “I don’t think it would be a proper party for any of us without some. Hopefully Wednesday doesn’t scare any of the new ones to their death.” She wouldn’t mind, so much, outside of the potential mess and strange attachment people had to the term ‘life’ in Fableton.
"She does have a gift." Morticia let out a happy sigh. Since they were both well aware that death wasn't the end of existence, they tended not to think of it the same way as most people. "Do you have your partner for the scavenger hunt?"
“She does, and normally I wouldn’t mind.” After all, she had two (she wished for three) she tried to wrangle herself, even if they weren’t actually hers. She frowned as she thought about it, “No, I got caught up in meeting people and entirely forgot.”
"Are your trick 'r treaters here to celebrate?" She didn't remember seeing them about, but there were a lot of people and she'd been busy playing hostess. "An easy fix," she hummed, searching the crowd for a familiar skeleton king. As if she hadn’t been planning that from the moment they devised a scavenger hunt.
“I’m sure at least Shock is around here somewhere,” she hoped with a shrug. She hadn’t seen Lock in a while, and Barrel in frighteningly longer yet. Her eyebrow lifted at her, “Is it?” She had a sinking but hopeful feeling about what her dear friend was up to.
"Causing mischief, I hope." She smiled. She'd heard stories. "Bien sûr, ma cherie. I can fix it right now, if you like." Her smile widened as she caught sight of Jack in the crowd.
“Most definitely. I doubt Shock is capable of anything but,” she laughed and nodded in agreement. “Oh! Alright then,” she nodded in agreement, knowing there was no use in arguing with Morticia and whatever scheme she was working on.
"Those are the best people." Tish wasn't used to people resisting her plots, and Sally didn't let her down. Jack, on the other hand, could be difficult. She made her way through the crowd to him. "Jack, I hope you're free to partner Sally for the scavenger hunt. We wouldn't want to disappoint out birthday girl." Her voice was smooth as silk, but her look dared him to defy her.
