Mama’s Diary (again)

It’s been quite some time since Papa’s death yet Mama is still being all weird. I feel like I really need to find out what’s wrong. So I snuck into Mama’s room and took her diary again. (Sorry Mama!) I’ll show you what she wrote in a recent entry:
Dear Diary,
It’s been over eight months since Jean’s death but I can still feel the pain and the heartbreak as if he left me just yesterday. People always say that time is best the healer for pain but it’s been quite some time, yet the pain is still there. Lately, I’ve been trying to distract myself from it by listening to Barbra Lambert and Alya Dubois’ crazy stories and pieces of gossip but it doesn’t actually seem like it’s helping me. It distracts me, for sure, but I just participate in their activities for something to do all day rather than spend it alone thinking about the war and Jean. I’m waiting for my heart and soul to heal. Hopefully, time will heal this pain. Just like they say.
i really am starting to fall in love with myself, again …
& starting to create more happiness within & im really proud of that.
i also accept that it’s gonna take time because the past will visit here and there but i know that it’s just a distraction and a challenge for me that i know I’m strong enough to overcome, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
baby steps … i will create myself and be aligned 😌
