Hey I respect all of y’all but we don’t need to be vaguing. Yeah, in general the safest assumption to make is that hockey players at large are an extension of the very conservative culture they are a part of and yeah, in general it sucks that we have to keep this in mind and let it temper our enjoyment of the sport and the players we are fans of. But this is not in general, this is a specific thing and for every few posts making nondescript jibes and expressions of disappointment, there should be at least a few that say outright that Carter Hart of the Philadelphia Flyers believes conservative propaganda at least enough to circulate it within his personal sphere. This is the kind of thing that can eventually be swept away as general character criticism if we don’t acknowledge what exactly happened.
So like.Â
Hey guys doesn’t it really suck that Carter Hart of the Philadelphia Flyers believes conservative propaganda at least enough to circulate it within his personal sphere :/ it feels a bit like a betrayal, as a fan, but it’s a good reminder of the kinds of attitudes that build the existing hockey culture and why it has to be a conscious effort to change that.
