The Strange Success of Unused Stickers
Have you ever saved a sticker for so long that it became too special to use?
Not because it was expensive.
Not because it was rare.
Just because it meant something.
A favorite character. A trip you never forgot. A phase of life you wanted to keep.
At some point, the sticker stopped being a sticker.
It became a memory.
Maybe that's why so many sticker books, drawers, and stationery boxes are filled with stickers that were never peeled.
We're often told that things are valuable because of how we use them.
But sometimes they're valuable because of what they remind us of.
Sometimes keeping something is its own kind of use.
