KEVIN GOES INTO THE WOODS AFTER HEARING A CALL FOR HELP. Â
Kevin made dumb decisions in his life, and tended to take a reckless approach to situations he never thought out. He was still young, and his decision making was altered by pleasure and what he believed to be right at the time. The therapist his father had been making him go to was trying to fix that, but even Kevin knew it wasnât possible.
The camping trip was a great idea, but it was overwhelming the amount of people that didnât want to be here. Cliques from school had been forming, and they completely tried to avoid it as they wanted to fuel tensions between the north and southside. His father, which was the newly appointed sheriff to the SouthSide, never stopped telling Kevin to be careful.
It was 9:30 PM, and Kevin was on his Nintendo Switch in a lawn chair right behind a campfire. Everyone was off eating dinner, but Kevin decided to stay behind and wait until the line had finished. The sounds of mario and the gang attempting challenges was filling the air, shutting Kevin off from the outside world around him.
âHELP ME.â Kevin heard, and the noise sounded as if it was from a small child. Immediately Kevin jumped up, trying to make sense of what heâd heard. The Black Hood days were over, but that didnât mean Kevin needed to be running off by himself.
âSOMEONE HELP ME, PLEASE.â The scream came from the west of the forest, and Kevin didnât think to call for backup he immediately started sprinting towards the noise. It was the right thing to do, and he hoped it was just some morbid game of hide and seek.
All he had was his phone light, a pocket full of candy bars, and his jacket that was on him. It didnât take long for him to find the woman who had been screaming that was just standing in the middle of the path with nothing but the most eerie smile on her face.
âHi..are you alright?â Kevin asked, moving to take off his jacket in order to give the woman more warmth at night. She didnât say a word, but appeared to have just been ignoring Kevin.
âIâm Kevin Keller. My dadâs the sheriff.â Kevin pulled out his phone, sending a text to Moose Mason telling him that heâd run off to the woods to help a woman who had been acting strange. It was all he sent, and it was a precaution in case people were worried heâd be gone - he thought he may need to talk to the woman for a while.
He stated, moving towards the lady as he placed his phone light on the ground to prop it towards the both of them. The attempted kind gesture wasnât enough, as the woman quickly began laughing.Â
Within seconds, the woman only started laughing and Kevin believed she must either be psychotic or some other issues going on. He needed to keep his cool. âI can take you back to my campground, we have fo-âÂ
A hard blunt object connected with Kevinâs head. It happened so fast that he didnât realize his body had been falling to the ground. He was still conscious, and figured that he wasnât hit hard enough but he was still disoriented with a throbbing pain hitting his head. His vision was starting to blur, and all Kevin could see was two men with very polished shoes walking up to him. Kevin still hadnât been knocked out, and he still had a slight feeling in his legs.
Without any hesitation, Kevin tried to get up and run (it was worth a shot). He hadnât been able to even get off the ground before he felt several blunt objects pounding at his right leg. The pain was finally enough to push Kevin into falling unconscious.Â
âLooks like our plan is going to work after all.â The last words Kevin heard before his world slipped into darkness.
