Always figured that the Iron Queen was a human (or Overlander, as they are called in this comic). Its nice seeing the comic’s past events again, such as the Mobians war with Overlanders. Its uncanny seeing Uncle Chuck and a young Jules Hedgehog portrayed as threats from her perspective.
The Iron King’s real name is Jun Kun? Huh, all these characters have shades of themselves that we didn’t really know. But anyway, that’s where the flashbacks end.
And all this lonesome abandonment starts Regina’s turn of darkness, at first intending to preserve her cults magic but years later aspiring to rule.
What did Monkey Khan do! Nah, as dramatic as they make it out to be, I am interested to see more of Monkey Khan’s backstory, as all we really know is that he was once Dr. Robotnik’s test subject and stuff.

The side story is where the Iron Queen (or Regina Ferrum) tells Snively more of her backstory, which is pretty useful. Better late than never when they elaborate on the past of the new ruler of the Eggman Empire.
Also this is the first time we see Jamal Peppers on pencils, who gives a good first impression honestly.
At least we get to see the Iron King do stuff. He's drawn pretty awesomely and looks to be a potent enemy.
Looks like we have Steven Butler back on pencils and he does a pretty good job with the characters here and their expressions. I particularly love how dynamic he drew Lightning Lynx's markings. I think Matt Herms' colours are probably making it look better than it is?
