Pride 2026 🏳️‍🌈 Sonadow²- AskVerse meets BB!AU ---

A walk through the park for the multiverse's favorite polycule! Also featuring AV!Shadow carrying AV!Sonic's hoglets because that's just where the story's at right now with them in the RP lol. From left to right: Sun, Rift, Flash, and Star.

After mowing through line upon line of badnick bot, the heroes finally were in reach of the satellite structure. Arthur, carving a path of mechanical wreckage with his sword, was nearest its base.

"Easy as, Egghead- your move!" Sonic shouted.

Eggman snarled and and looked over his shoulder. "Stone? Could really use that wonder weapon of yours-"

"Online."

"Excellent. Fire at will."

On the ground, the dish whirred to life; Sonic skidded to a halt, arms wind-milling to stop his momentum. "Don't like that- Tails! What's it doing?"

"I don't know, but, the Rift energy it was harvesting is redirecting-"

Shadow looked up as the dish spun to point towards the throng of Mobians, the ground shaking underneath as the massive structure shifted. It's center tower began to glow, and the air up and down the beach crackled with building energy.

The hybrid leapt forward and kicked on his air shoes, skating towards the sandbar at high velocity. "Directed energy weapon!" he shouted into the comms as he ran. "It's a beam! Stay clear of its path!"

"Oh great, lasers! Fun! SHIT-" Sonic's yelp was cut short as a the first shot blasted from the dish's tower. The hedgehog just managed to avoid its impact, diving away, his own airburst slamming into the shockwave from the laser.

"I said STAY CLEAR-"

"TRYING MY BEST!"

"TRY HARDER-"

"Alright boys, that's enough clogging up comms with your flirting, thanks!"

Smoke grenades fell across a line of badniks, pink and purple smoke blocking their vision, before a hail of bulletspray from the X-Tornado's gun mowed down the line. Sonic broke through it, eyes locked on the satellite ahead.

It whirred to life again, it's power centering- he had moments to adjust his path, a fraction of second-

Suddenly there was darkness and the deafening rush of concentrated energy around him. Sonic opened his eyes; he was blocked by black-and-purple pulsing wings, shielding him, enveloping Shadow ahead of him- there was fresh blood at the hybrid's back, green and hot and thick, and if not for the roar of energy around them Sonic might have scolded the hybrid for being so damn self-sacrificing.

With a great shout and snap of his wings, Shadow threw the energy back to the satellite. The tower's head took the brunt of impact; then the ringing started. It grew to such a pitch, louder and louder, the satellite quaking from its base-

Shadow turned, eyes raking his partner to ensure the hedgehog's safety. "Soni-?"

The world was engulfed in blinding light.

Oh yes he absolutely does-

They have movie/TV nights sometimes and Sonic's stomach is Shadow's preferred pillow. Sometimes after their races they'll stop in a meadow or on a ridge or something to watch the sky and Shadow will curl up with his head on sonic's tum then, too.

He loves his soft husband so much-

It was later in the evening, now, after Tails had given a thorough debriefing to all groups involved in the battle to come. The fight was looming large over the horizon.

Sonic sat on the beach near his and Tails' home, watching the sun slip behind the water far across the sky. He flicked his ear as the message appeared and barely gave it more than a glance before grinning sheepishly. "It's now more days late, probably- I don't know, something-something, time dilation. Anyway, hope you had fun," he said. "Checked for hedgehogs before you lit yours up, right? I hear Terran ones love nesting under those things."

The flickering light of the bonfire to his side, coming to life suddenly in the firepit he and his brother kept up on a flat bit of sands, made him smile. He was sitting farther from it, taking a bit of time to himself in sight of but farther from his friends around the fire's edge.

His eyes lingered on Shadow, who seemed to be fielding questions from the younger Sonic with a... passing level of patience, at least. The older snorted. He wondered if it was the fact Shadow was the only one in the group (besides Tails, who was had returned to his lab to finish last minute preperations) who knew Mobian sign, or if it was the fact the little hoglet had seen his older version kissing this dark hedgehog, earlier. Maybe a combination. The older turned back towards the horizon, arms over his knees and chin resting on his arms.
