once i got into an argument with my friends about the cover art of spirit theyre gone spirit theyve vanished by animal collective and whether or not the green gunk residue on the cover is intentional or not so i reasonably spent like 2 days remaking the cover art from a scan of the book avey took the drawing from. i made 3 different color palletes for it, one picked from the cd scan, one picked form the digital cover art, and one averaged between the two, and for each of those 3 i made 2 versions, one with cd cover cropping and the other with cropping from the digital cover. the text was done by a friend of mine (who was a green gunk supporter)

Playlist Poetry's last show is tomorrow 9am on WMUC Digital! Listen at wmuc.umd.edu.
Reading from the 1930 children’s poetry collection, Stars To-Night: Verses New and Old for Boys and Girls, by Sara Teasdale and illustrated by Dorothy Lathrop. The redditors at /r/animalcollective started a hunt for the origins of the STGSTV album art and I’m unbelievably happy that one of them actually identified the book! I found it at the library and my hands were shaking so bad, hence the blurry pic. See more images here: http://imgur.com/a/7hsLs
I’m very tempted to just play STGSTV tomorrow; it’s one of my absolute favorite albums. I’m so happy this mystery has been solved and so in awe of the poetry and art in this book.
