I've had a conundrum for roughly over half the semester in which I've been wearing the same shoes. But about three weeks ago, I decided to make a change. I hopped on TTC transport all the way downtown to hit the shopping mecca of Toronto, the Eaton Centre. Accompanied by my friend and colleague, and podcast producer, John Kennedy, we journeyed to the one store where we knew to buy shoes: Journeys. Looking around the store, I was tempted first by the new Toy Story line of Vans. Being the lover of Disney that I am, it was love at first sight. I gave them a whirl around the store, and decided that unfortunately, they wouldn't go with much in my wardrobe. Continuing to look around the store, I was baffled at some of the prices of shoes. I had a specific budget, and 400$ shoes weren't going to make that budget, if you know what I mean. It was at this time, that John pointed out a brown pair of Steve Maddens that when shown, called out to me from the Heavens. I knew these were the pair I needed. I brought the sample shoe to the counter. "Do you have these in a 13?" "I don't think so, but let me check out back!" The clerk came back with two pairs of boots, one similar to the Steve Maddens, and a 12 of the Steve Maddens. "I only have a 12." "We'll make it work." And make it work I did. Luckily, the size 12 fit, and I was able to walk around with those cloud nines wrapped around my feet. "Thank you." I'm wearing these Steve Maddens today. And they're flippin' great.
