The “Bad” reader.
This audio blog from the bramongarciabraun studo in L.A. is an excellent discussion of what to do when you have an audition reader that is less than satisfactory. While this is geared more toward the on-camera world (and thankfully we’re getting more of this work at the moment here in Chicago), I find that much, if not all of what Steve Braun has to say is as applicable to theatre auditioning. As an audition reader for over 20 years, I’ve always tried to be as fully present with you in the room as I can be and in a way that best serves your audition. This blog will help you take the challenge of a “bad” reader and turn it into an opportunity.
