I am late to the party (and kicking myself over it) but seriously, I’ve got #stepril on the brain after binging @teenagebountyhunters Everything about the development of this couple and the characters involved was masterfully done by everyone involved. Every camera shot, crooked smile by @devonhales.jpg , ponytail, panic of the gay variety by @themaddiep … every choice seemed to come together seamlessly and naturally. I’m not usually one to get hung up when a show gets cancelled - after all what will worrying about it do - but when I found out there’ll be no season 2, I actually felt something close to loss. Loss for the show and the characters, but most strongly , loss of what could have been for April. She would find out about what Sterling did, she might even go out with Luke, and eventually have her definition of what it means to be perfect would be shattered. She would make decisions based on what she wants, and learn that she is in fact good and loved no matter what. And then of course she and Sterling would finally have their much deserved moment together, and it would have been beautifully done just like other intimate moments in the show. As a queer Christian who grew up in a conservative Christian community, and as a twin myself, one can imagine how much I related to these characters (obviously not to the bounty hunting though I wish). I loved the quirkiness of all the characters and all the subtle hilarious moments that you might easily miss if you weren’t paying attention. This show deserved at least one more season on @netflix for closure for everyone.
