Vrsar, Croatia, Stephen Mitchell

This is an original painting of the rooftops of Vrsar, in Istria, Croatia. I've always loved painting rooftops, especially red ones, and this view from the top of the belltower in Vrsar was especially enchanting with the sea in the distance. I've painted this with loose, expressive brush strokes, hoping to draw the eye to the group of buildings catching the sunlight. It is painted on 3mm masonite board, and is sold unframed.
