Waldo R. Larson Award
So in the last post, I told about how I was entering a art show that I do every year. Â Tonight was the opening for the show. Â My mother came down to go with me, which was awesome because she is a fun person to go to art shows with. Â
As I was walking in, eager to see if there was going to be a ribbon next to my picture, I heard a voice call my name.  One of the ladies in charge of the event walked up to me and told me that they just got done calling the names of the people who got ribbons (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Best in show, honorable mentions, and so on).  She told me that they called my name and I was nowhere.  With a look of eager to my face I asked what did i get, she told me I got the Larson Award for photography.  âOk, um, what is that?â I asked.  She told me, and to be honest, I am still not sure what it means, but all I know is you get the same prize money as the best in show award, so freaking awesome and I know its not a small deal.
Threw out the evening I was standing around my picture hopefully wanting to hear what other people might say about, and I think I heard one of the best things that I have ever heard about my pictures.
âMore people are talking about this piece than any other in the show,â said a worker. Â While I heard that, a big smile formed on my face.
