Entering Santa Catalina de Somoza, 8 x 10” or 2Ox25 cm, oil. My Camino de Santiago adventures earlier this year in Spain continue: June21: I had decided to drive all the way back to Castrojerriz to paint some scenes that I remembered there, but when I woke up I decided I wanted to go back to Santa Catalina de Somoza to paint . I did an oil painting of the path down to the church, which really had attracted my attention the last time I was there. And I’m glad I did. While I was painting I met A charming woman from Northern California, Katherine. We started talking and a little later she came back and asked me for a ride to Rabanel. We really hit it off, and ended up traveling together for a few days. Also, she told me that when she had been through Castrojerriz on the Camino, it has been really dry and brown.
