Disney+ has finally released the FYC Q&A for Moon Knight.

Here’s one of my favorite statements, which Oscar made at the end of the interview after he reiterated that Steven was his favorite alter to portray:

The thing to remember is this is a system. I know you can love one of the alters, but one doesn't exist without the other. And I think that's also what I feel so proud about, is that I've gotten a lot of responses from actual systems, and they feel seen for the first time, and really represented in a truthful way. I think for us, it was so important that even all the fantastical elements of it had a lot of emotional impact and symbolism to what that internal struggle is. So it's been really gratifying to see a lot of people that specifically have DID, but also people that have struggled with mental illness, to see it depicted on such a massive stage.

Editing this post, because I realized I forgot to include this detail before! The interviewer uses outdated and harmful DSM III terminology to refer to DID. She’s also highly annoying. Oscar, May, Mohamed, and the other creatives are excellent, and the interview is well worth the watch. Just fyi.

Look, common sense tells me that obviously this was a set built outdoors, utilizing pre-existing natural scenery, but in no way was I prepared to actually read that the crew for real built a whole bit outside that made it look like a genuine excavation site that archaeologists use. And the way it looks so normal, so natural, I thought it was part of the mountainside and that kept me wondering where TF this particular scene was shot, and it surprised me - despite the more than obvious logic - that this outdoor set was freakin’ BUILT!! 😳 The fact that it looks so real is a testament to how well it was made.
