Work Dinner
This evening I had the treat of being taken to Kreis' Steakhouse for a business dinner.
We are about to launch a new program where we begin imaging pathology excession slides at up to 8K resolution. An image so detailed that it can take the cells compressed between two slides of glass and render them in a way that makes them viewable in a 3D manipulation for medical review.
The supplier of our new imaging equipment wanted to thank us for our sizable purchase of 7 imaging pods (4 scanners per pod, at a cost of over $500,000 per pod)
I'm personally more impressed that each pod will utilize 5 computers, each running 14th Gen Intel Core i9 14900KS 6.2 GHz chipsets, 192 GB of RAM, and RTX GeForce NVIDIA 5090 graphics cards with 32 GB of onboard GDDR7 RAM.
When I was reviewing the specs with the install engineer team, they realized that I fully comprehended the computing power. The joke was made that if any of the computers went missing, that someone should check my house to see what game I was streaming, and what I was streaming it on.
As for the food. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The steaks were very good, but I personally prefer Ruth's Chris or Citizen Kane's steakhouse. Not because their steaks are far superior, but because each of those venues does a better job with the rest of the meal that is served with the steak.
That's purely a personal preference.
